Project Assignment
Statuses can be applied workspace-wide so every project sees them, or restricted to specific projects that need them. Project assignment is configured on the Projects tab of the status edit modal.
Apply to all projects
When Apply to All Projects is enabled, the status is automatically available in every project in the workspace — including new projects created in the future. This is the recommended setting for standard statuses such as Passed, Failed, and Blocked that every team uses.
Assign to specific projects
When Apply to All Projects is disabled, you can select individual projects from the project list. The status will only appear in the selected projects.
Use project-specific assignment when:
- A status is relevant to only one team or workflow.
- You want to keep project status lists clean and relevant.
- Different projects have different outcome terminology.
Changing assignment
You can update project assignment at any time by editing the status. Removing a project from the assignment does not affect historical results that already used the status — those records are preserved. The status simply stops appearing as an option in new result entries for that project.
Interaction with enabled state
Project assignment and the enabled toggle are independent. A status must be both enabled and assigned to the project (or set to apply to all projects) to appear in selection dropdowns for users in that project.
