Workspace Home
After you sign in, the Home link in the main navigation opens your workspace landing page. It greets you by name, tracks setup progress, surfaces quick stats, and links you into projects and admin tasks — all gated on your real permissions.
Opening Home
Home is the first item in the workspace navigation bar (alongside Projects and Admin). It is where you land after creating a workspace, accepting an invitation, or logging in. The browser tab title reads Home.
Not a project dashboard. Home is workspace-wide. Each project has its own dashboard under Projects → open a project card. See Browsing Projects.
Two layouts
Home adapts to whether your workspace already has projects:
| State | What you see |
|---|---|
| Empty workspace | A “Welcome aboard” hero, setup checklist, optional Why teams stay spotlight cards, and Learn the basics resource links. |
| Populated workspace | A “Welcome back” hero, glance stats, recent project cards, setup checklist (until you finish it), and Learn the basics links. |
Hero actions
The buttons under the welcome message change with your role and workspace state:
| Button | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Create a project | No projects exist yet and you have create permission. |
| View your projects | At least one project exists, or you cannot create projects. |
| Try the sample project / Open the sample project | No projects yet and either you can create one or a sample already exists in the workspace. See Sample project. |
Setup checklist
The Finish setting up your workspace card walks you through high-impact next steps. Progress is measured over the steps you can actually take — admin-only steps you lack permission for are hidden, not shown as blockers.
| Step | Who can act | Marked done when |
|---|---|---|
| Create or try a sample project | Project Admin or higher | At least one project exists in the workspace. |
| Invite your team | Users with invite permission | At least one invitation has been sent. |
| Connect MCP | Any signed-in user | You have created a personal API key (Profile → API keys). |
| Connect Linear or Jira | Admin with external-reference access | A Linear integration source is connected. |
| Enable AI Settings | Tenant Admin | AI is enabled for the workspace. |
| Set up roles & access | Tenant Admin | You have opened Admin → Users → Roles & Permissions at least once. |
Each step shows an estimated time, a short description, and a button that opens the right screen. Steps tagged Unlocks more connect to power features many teams adopt after their first project.
Checklist completion When every step you can act on is done, the checklist shows All set — nice work! and then disappears on your next visit. Progress is saved to your account, so it stays hidden across browsers and devices.
Glance stats
Once your workspace has projects, a row of stat tiles appears below the checklist:
| Stat | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Projects | Count of projects you can access. |
| Test cases | Total test cases across those projects. |
| Pass rate | Percentage of latest run outcomes that passed. |
| AI usage | Percentage of your workspace’s monthly AI allowance used. Visible to Tenant Admins only, when AI is enabled. |
Recent projects
Up to three active project cards appear in a grid, sorted by recent activity. Each card shows the project icon, name, description, and an Open action. A View all link opens the full Projects list.
Why teams stay
On an empty workspace, spotlight cards highlight features worth setting up early — MCP integration, external references, AI test design, and workspace administration. The cards you see match the permissions you have.
Learn the basics
At the bottom of Home, quick-read cards link to documentation for cycles, creating test cases, and recording results. These are the same guides in this docs site, opened in a new tab.
